Idyllwild Campground is a great getaway for families and nature lovers alike. Located in the mountains of Riverside County and at an elevation of 5200 feet, this campground offers a variety of camping experiences. Tent campers will appreciate the shaded sites and dirt bottoms, while RVers should be cautious of the unlevel sites and low-hanging branches. Cell service is non-existent except near the ranger station, but there are community water spigots throughout the campground. There are no hook-ups, but the campground is close enough to the town of Idyllwild that you can easily walk to restaurants and shops. Nature walks, mountain climbing, and the nature center are all within easy reach. The campground is open year-round, but only five sites are open in the winter months due to the elevation.
