GenieSummary

This campground is the perfect spot for nature lovers and overlanders alike. With its remote location, the wildlife is abundant and the campground is incredibly clean. The campground is divided into a tenting section and an RV section, with sites that are very large and well-spaced, and most of the sites are fairly level, although some blocking is required. There are no hook ups for RVs, and generators are not allowed, but the camp host gave our neighbor the OK to idle his truck to charge his batteries. The Stagecoach building is a historical landmark and sits in the center near the facilities, and there is also a small cemetery and children’s playground available. The campground is only about five miles north of its better-known and busier sister San Diego county park, Aqua Caliente, and is reached by a fairly good, paved county road, S2. Even though this is a fairly remote campground, there is strong Verizon voice and 4G data. The camp host was very active driving around welcoming everybody and was helpful with any questions you might have. The park volunteer was super friendly and made my stay enjoyable.
