From The Campground

El Cariso Campground is a Forest Service campground located in Cleveland National Forest. It offers 24 single campsites on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground is open year-round and offers potable water and vault toilets. The maximum vehicle length allowed is 22 feet. The campground is adjacent to Ortega Highway (Highway 74), 25 miles east of San Juan Capistrano and 5 miles west of Lake Elsinore. Visitors should be aware of lane closures on Ortega Highway due to construction of a new bridge overpass at the I-5 freeway. The campground is a great spot for camping, hiking, and picnicking.
