Jalama Beach Campground is a scenic ocean campground located in Lompoc, CA. The campground can be reached by driving a 14-mile curvy road, but it is paved and not as bad as some might think. All the hookup sites (electric only) are located above the main campground, providing beautiful ocean views. Some sites may have partial views due to trees. Non-hookup sites are also available. The beachfront sites (53-64) are right on the sand and offer unobstructed views of the ocean. Most sites are paired between shrubs, but some are open to each other. The rest of the sites on the main campground level do not have ocean views due to the dunes. Facilities at the campground include threaded RV water fill stations, non-threaded water spigots, restrooms, trash barrels, and a two-spot dump station. The showers are located in a separate building and take quarters. The store and grill serve lunch and offer both indoor and outdoor seating options. The launch schedule at the Vandenberg Space Force Base can sometimes cause the park to be evacuated, but the county will send a notification email to campers if this occurs during their stay. The staff at the campground are accommodating to changing arrival/departure days or cancelling reservations entirely. Overall, Jalama Beach Campground is a lovely, well-run campground with easy access to the beach and beautiful views.
