It is a great spot to watch a meteor shower and offers cooler weather compared to Yosemite village and the valley. There is no ranger checking reservations, but there is a sign in where personal accountability is held. There is also a nice stream nearby where visitors can spot wildlife. Unfortunately, there have been reports of people smoking meth in the mens restroom, so visitors should be aware and exercise caution.
