Ponderosa RV Resort in Lotus, CA is a nice campground with a great setting along the American River. The roads leading to the sites are gravel, which can be dusty, but the park itself is well maintained and clean. Most of the sites offer water and electric hookups only, with a few exceptions that have full hookups. The staff is helpful and polite and the restrooms and showers are in good shape. The campground offers easy access to the river and there are many rafting businesses nearby. While sites can be close together, the campground is generally quiet and relaxing, with the exception of some noise when kids are playing. Overall, its a great place to camp for both relaxation and fun.

Ponderosa RV Resort is an age-qualified (55+) resort located in California. Due to damage from storms and flooding, sections D, E, F, and H are closed through May 23, 2024. The resort offers tent and RV sites, as well as rental accommodations. Pets are allowed in select rental units upon payment of a non-refundable pet fee of $50 per pet per stay. The resort offers amenities such as water and electric hookups, and activities such as nearby Lake Minden. The resort has a cancellation policy that varies depending on the type of reservation.
