Lookout Campground is a secluded spot tucked away in the forest, where you can find stunning views of the aspen groves in the fall. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire pit, and cooking setup. You can collect firewood from the forest floor, but bear-safe food storage is not required. There is a large group meeting area for day picnics, and you can cool off in the Truckee River. The roads leading to the campground are passable by any vehicle, but you should drive slowly and carefully. There is a variety of hiking trails nearby, and if you hike up the hill at the nearby Crystal Mine, you can get Verizon reception.
