From The Campground

Leo Carrillo State Park is a beautiful park located 28 miles northwest of Santa Monica on the Pacific Coast Highway. The park features 1.5 miles of beach for swimming, surfing, windsurfing, surf fishing, and beachcombing. Visitors can explore tidepools, coastal caves, and reefs. The park also has giant sycamores that shade the main campgrounds and offers back-country hiking. Junior Rangers and campfire programs are offered during the summer, and school field trips are offered during the school year. The park was named after Leo Carrillo, an actor, preservationist, and conservationist who served on the California Beach and Parks commission for eighteen years.
