Honey Lake Campground is a great spot for an overnight stay. It is pet friendly and offers wide pull-through sites with a few trees providing welcome shade. It is an older campground, so there is a lot of junk laying around, including broken swing sets and old RVs. The views across the highway of the dried up lake are beautiful, but the campground is a bit of a mess. The restroom is clean but there is a lot of deferred maintenance. The laundry is a bit of a dump but the washers and driers work and are only $1.50. The young woman at the desk is very friendly and helpful. The site is on sandy soil and not level, so you may need to add boards or work your set-up to find the sweet spot. It is not a destination park, but a great place for a safe, quiet stopover.
