It is a wood chip parking lot close to downtown with full hook-ups and soft water. There is a large construction gate that is left open all day, so you may not feel secure. There is no table or fire pit, and the WIFI is poor. The campground is very bright at night, so you may want to bring blackout window coverings for sleeping. The Monterey County Fairgrounds RV Park is conveniently located in the heart of Monterey, just blocks from the beach and the Monterey bike path, and only a few miles from downtown Monterey, Cannery Row, Pacific Grove, and Carmel.
