This campground is located in a great location for exploring the Monterey area, with easy access to Carmel, Asilomar, Pacific Grove, and Monterey attractions. It is a wood chip parking lot close to downtown with full hook-ups and soft water. The sites are very tight, and the hook-ups are located at the back of the space, so you will need long sewer and power hoses to reach them. There is a large construction gate that is left open all day, so you may not feel secure. The campground is also close to a small airport, so there is noise during the day, but it stops mostly at night. The staff is very courteous and the bathrooms are clean. There is no table or fire pit, and the WIFI is poor. The campground is very bright at night, so you may want to bring blackout window coverings for sleeping. There is also a golf course next door, so you may want to be aware of errant golf balls. The cost is $65 per night, and it can be difficult to get reservations due to the small size and summertime.

The Monterey County Fairgrounds RV Park is conveniently located in the heart of Monterey, just blocks from the beach and the Monterey bike path, and only a few miles from downtown Monterey, Cannery Row, Pacific Grove, and Carmel. The park offers full hookups, showers, coin laundry, wireless internet access, and ADA access. Pets and children are welcome. Discounts are available for seniors and military/veterans. The park hosts exciting events throughout the year, including the AT&T Pro Am, Women’s US Open, and Monterey Car Week.
