What others are saying about this campground
The campground is set in a grove of redwoods and is very peaceful. The sites are well spaced and have good privacy. There are plenty of picnic tables, fire rings, and bear boxes. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. The campground is well lit at night, making it easy to find your way around. The campground is close to Avenue of the Giants, so you can explore the area. The only downside is that the campground is a bit pricey. Hidden Springs Campground is a secluded and peaceful campground located in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, just off the Avenue of the Giants. This campground is perfect for those looking for a quiet getaway in the Redwoods, with plenty of shade and privacy. The sites are well spaced and have picnic tables, fire rings, and bear boxes. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. The campground is well lit at night, making it easy to find your way around. There are no redwoods in the campground, but it is close to Avenue of the Giants and has a hiking trail behind the campsites that takes you from one end of the campground to the other. Firewood is available for purchase for $8 a bundle, and there is a small town nearby for last-minute camp supplies. Be aware that the road is narrow and there can be traffic from people checking in, and that there is an abundance of poison oak in the area.

From The Campground

Humboldt Redwoods State Park spans 53,000 acres, an area almost twice the size of San Francisco. About one third, or 17,000 acres, of the park is old-growth redwood forest—the largest expanse of ancient redwoods left on the planet. Visitors can enjoy a variety of overnight facilities including environmental campsites, family campsites, group campsites, and hike or bike campsites. The park also offers bike trails, hiking trails, horseback riding, historical/cultural sites, picnic areas, environmental learning/visitor center, exhibits and programs, fishing, guided tours, interpretive exhibits, swimming, and museums. Restrooms and outdoor showers are available for visitors. Dogs are allowed in the park except for on trails, with the exception of service animals.
