Knoxville Recreation Area is a 17,700-acre area located in California, known for its varied terrain and popular activities such as off-highway vehicle (OHV) riding, hunting, mountain biking, camping, and nature study. The landscape is characterized by steep and rolling hills with unique plant communities, including serpentine barrens that are closed to vehicles to protect the delicate vegetation. The Lower Hunting Creek is the only developed campground in the area, offering 5 sites with shade structures, vault toilet, trash cans, and 3 overflow campsites. There are also primitive campsites available at Cedar Creek, Cement Creek, and Pocock Creek. The North OHV Staging Area provides parking and a vault toilet for OHV riders. Target shooting is not allowed in the area.
