Fenders River Road Resort in Needles, CA is a great stop for those traveling from Quartzsite to Oregon. Although not close to the lake, there is a boat launch nearby. Stairs down to the water on the right side of the lake offer a decent spot for swimming. Shade is abundant at the campsites, but the ground isnt level everywhere. There are no flushing toilets or showers, and the area has a lot of poison oak and mosquitoes. Although they had a bear wander into the campground, the noise level subsides after 11 pm. The interior roads are quite narrow, and it can be challenging to get into pull-through sites, especially if cars are parked next to motel units. However, waterfront sites provide short walks to very nice beaches. This resort is ideal for those looking to camp at great rates with convenient amenities.
