What others are saying about this campground
The campground is located in a beautiful area of the central coast and is only a short 5-minute drive to the grocery store. The back loop is brand new and features a super nice bath house. This area is also home to the largest colony of monarch butterflies that winter in the United States. You can walk to several different restaurants in town from the campground if you dont feel like cooking on the grills at your campsite. You can also drive your car onto the beach and there is a nice trail that goes around the outer edge of the campground through the dunes out to Hwy 1 and on to Pismo Beach. The campground is quite and peaceful, but the lights at the bathrooms can be quite bright. The campground offers great access to the beach, as well as a variety of amenities, and is a great place to spend the day exploring the area.

From The Campground
Pismo State Beach Campgrounds offer two campgrounds, North Beach and Oceano, with conventional amenities such as restrooms, pay-operated hot showers, picnic tables, and campfire rings. Firewood is available for sale at the Camp Host Campsites or by inquiring with park staff at the kiosk. The North Beach Campground features tent camping facilities and a campfire center, while the Oceano Campground features both hook-up RV sites and tent camping sites. Visitors can access the beach from both campgrounds, explore wildlife along a freshwater lagoon, and enjoy the Visitor Center. In the summer months, Jr. Ranger Programs and Campfire Programs are held at the campfire centers. The Oceano Dunes District Visitor Center is a one-stop place to learn about the park and local area. Friendly staff and volunteers will help answer your questions about the park and local area. The interpretive center will introduce you to the history of the area, teach you about local wildlife, and give you fun ideas for adventuring in the park!
