The campground is open year-round and offers amenities such as picnic tables, vaulted toilets, and water. Coin-operated hot showers and flush toilets are currently unavailable for maintenance. The campground is located near a world-class observatory and offers access to the scenic Observatory Trail. Visitors can enjoy activities such as Star Parties where they can explore the night sky using the renowned Hale Telescope. The campground is good for weekends and holidays, but reservations fill up fast. A Forest Adventure Pass is required for day use, but not for camping. The campground is accessible and offers six accessible sites. Firewood cannot be transported due to the risk of spreading pests and diseases.
