GenieSummary

Hendy Woods is a family-friendly campground located in Anderson Valley wine country. With 1,000 year old giant Pacific redwood trees, it is a stunning place to explore and camp. The campground is very crowded, but the junior ranger program and nightly events for families make it worth the stay. There is a Mom and Pop store up the road for any forgotten items, and a nearby Anderson Valley Brewery and Pennyroyal Cheese Farm for kid-friendly activities. The river near the daily access area is somewhat dried up and has little shade, but it is still a great spot to camp during a rainstorm. The campground is located off route 128, and is 45 minutes from the picturesque town of Mendocino. It is a must-have experience for those who enjoy camping in the western part of the U.S.

From The Campground

Hendy Woods State Park is a beautiful park located in California. The park offers accessible features such as the Azalea Loop, the All-Access Trail, and the one-room Puma Cabin at Wildcat Campground. The park has high and low temperatures ranging from the high 50s to the low 30s at night between November and March, and from the low 60s to low 100s during April through October. Bicycles are restricted to paved roads, and fires are only allowed in the camp or picnic stoves provided. Visitors can purchase firewood at the ranger station or from the camp host.
