What others are saying about this campground
Rio Vista Sand Bar Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the Sacramento River. Located just south of Rio Vista, the park offers spacious, grassy campsites with sandy soil, covered dining canopies, and pull-through sites with a table and fire ring. All sites have electric and water hookups and a dump station is available for an additional fee. The park also has a day use area with a beach, boat launch, and fishing. Flush toilets and showers are spartan but cleaned daily, and there is a handicapped shower with free hot water. The park is patrolled by rangers during the day, but not at night, and there is some noise from a nearby sand quarry and partying from locals. The power is not adequate for larger rigs, especially in the winter, and the sites are not level. Despite these drawbacks, the park is quiet, clean, and well taken care of, and the host is very helpful and friendly. Its a great place to enjoy the Delta and get away for a weekend or weekday.
