What others are saying about this campground
San Clemente State Beach is a great campground for those looking for a beach getaway. With 160 sites to choose from, including ADA accessible, that are a good size and multiple bathrooms with hot showers available, there is plenty of room to move around and set up camp. The campground is conveniently located less than two miles from Amtrak Station & Metrolink at the San Clemente Pier and close to many restaurants, liquor stores, and sporting goods stores along El Camino Real. Each site comes with two parking spots, a charcoal grill, fire ring, picnic table and shade canopy (no bear box). The beach is a bit of a trek, but the lifeguards are helpful if you need assistance. The vibe is groups of young friends and families with RVs or trailers. There are also plenty of flushing restrooms and coin operated showers to get the ocean off you at the end of the day. The only downside is the constant freeway noise and, when school is in session, the local elementary childrens screams can become annoying.
