From The Campground
Fremont Peak State Park is a beautiful park that offers expansive views of Monterey Bay, the San Benito Valley, Salinas Valley, and the Santa Lucia Mountains. The park features hiking trails, camping and picnic facilities, an astronomical observatory with a 30-inch telescope, and many birds and mammals in the pine and oak woodlands. Gas stoves and gas fire pits are allowed for cooking and warmth, but wood and charcoal fires are not allowed. The park is open year-round, and day use hours are from 8am to 30 minutes after sunset.
