Camp San Luis Obispo is a military campground located in a youth education program. All sites are pull through with full hookups, plus 6 dry camping overflow sites. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring and are spaced far apart with plenty of elbow room. There is a chow hall, laundry and small PX on the base, and a snack shop. The park is close to Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo, and a great location for visiting the Hearst Castle, elephant seal rookery, beaches, and lighthouses. It is also quiet, with little going on at night and cadets marching in the morning. Cell signal is strong and the scenery around the park is beautiful. The park is well-maintained and the staff are accommodating. A great destination for those looking to unwind and enjoy the slow pace of central CA.
