GenieSummary

This campground is located in the Los Padres National Forest and is managed by a third party. It is a clean and quiet site with lots of shade provided by huge oak trees. Each site has a table, bbq, and fire pit as well as running water and flushing toilets. The site is near many trails and is only 6 miles from the red rock day use area. Dogs are allowed, but must be on leash. The camp host was very friendly and came around with dog treats. Water spouts are close to each site and the bathrooms are surprisingly nice. The campground is close to Cold Springs Tavern, the hot spot in the area. The sites are close together, but you can drive right up to your sight. The sites are large and private, although some are on slopes and it can be difficult to find level ground for tents. There are also small trails to wander around in the morning and lots of birds and wild turkeys. The campground is also close to Lake Cachuma and State Street and the beach. Cellular service is available with Verizon and WiFi, and the spaces are paved. Unfortunately, the campground is closed for maintenance.
