KCL Campground is a rustic campground located in the Carrizo Plains National Monument in Southeast San Luis Obispo. The night sky is clear and full of stars, and owls can be heard hooting in the evening. The campground is also close to the San Andreas Fault Line, Soda Lake, and Painted Rock, all of which are within driving distance. However, the roads can be bumpy and muddy after rain, so vehicles with high ground clearance and off-roading capabilities are recommended.

KCL Campground is located on Carrizo Plain National Monument and offers 12 first-come, first-served campsites with picnic tables, fire pits, horse corrals, and an ADA compliant vault toilet. The campground has some of the few shade trees on the monument and a few of the original barn structures as well as some of the corrals. Electricity, drinking water, and garbage service are not available, so visitors are asked to pack out any refuse they have. Please refrain from entering the barn structures.
