Santa Margarita KOA in Santa Margarita, CA is a beautifully maintained campground with amazing secluded campsites. The location is perfect for day trips to nearby attractions such as Hearst Castle and Solvang. The staff is friendly, professional, and enthusiastic, doing their best to maintain the park in spite of natural challenges such as flooding and winds. The cabin we stayed in was well-equipped with basic amenities, but the bed could have been more comfortable. The Yurt we stayed in far exceeded our expectations; thoughtfully designed and furnished with a comfy inflatable pillow. The bathrooms were clean and the staff helpful, accommodating, and welcoming. We have stayed at many KOA campgrounds, but this is definitely one of our favorites.
