The centrally located bathrooms are kept clean and there is a helpful camp host available to answer questions. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. T-Mobile cellular service works just fine. There are some shaded spots, but some are too close to the main road. The park is close to the highway, so there is road noise at night and some locals honking their horns in the early morning. Quiet hours are not enforced and there is a lot of trash on the ground. The campground is also pricey due to the online reservation fee on top of the nightly rate. Fishing is not allowed, but it is a great spot for a weekend getaway.

Santa Paula Creek flows through this picturesque park that is surrounded by rolling hills, rugged mountain peaks, citrus groves and avocado groves. The natural beauty of the terrain coupled with large mature shade trees make this a popular location for picnics, creek side camping, hiking, biking, or wilderness exploring. Bird watchers enjoy woodpeckers, raptors, warblers, kingleys, and vireos. A large aviary in the park houses a variety of common birds and peafowl.
