GenieSummary
Figueroa Campground is a secluded and peaceful spot located in the hills of California. Surrounded by live oaks and manzanita trees, the campground offers plenty of shade and each site has a fire ring and picnic table. There is no drinking water available at the campground, so be sure to bring plenty of water and food that can be locked away in your car at night. The area is popular for hikers, cyclists, and off-road cyclists, as there are many trails in the nearby area, including Figueroa Mountain and Grass Mountain. During the wildflower bloom in late March or early April, the sides of the hills and mountains can look solid orange from afar due to the abundance of wild California poppies and purple mountain lupine flowers. The campground is also close to the towns of Los Olivos and Santa Ynez, which offer a great market with groceries, a bakery/coffee shop, a deli, and beer and local wine. The Firestone Walker brewery, taproom, and restaurant is also close-by. Be aware that you are in black bear country and be sure to take precautions to avoid any encounters with wildlife.
