The campground is located on a hilltop with stunning views of the region and is surrounded by coastal redwood trees. It offers large open sites for tent camping and some more private spots. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit, and bear box. There are flush toilets, coin-operated showers, and food lockers. The campground is close to town, with Target and Trader Joes only a 15 minute drive away, and the Mystery Spot even less. It is also close to the Roaring Camp Big Trees Railroad and the San Lorenzo River. The campground is bear aware and visitors should be aware of poison oak.
