GenieSummary

Edison Campground is a well-run, family-friendly facility located on the shores of Shaver Lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Featuring large, heavily wooded sites, the campground offers plenty of privacy and is equipped with full hook-ups, picnic tables, fire rings, and bear boxes. Campfires are allowed, and a guy drives around with a truck full of wood to sell for campfires. The park is well maintained with friendly and qualified camp hosts in each loop, and the number of sites is amazing. The lake is a short walk away and is great for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The museum is a nice walk and filled with interesting artifacts and photos of the area. The store is open from Memorial Day weekend, and the little town of Shaver Lake is cute and has a great milkshake/ice cream shop. WiFi is available for purchase and AT&T cellular worked fine throughout the campground and at the lake, and you can purchase a shower card from the front check-in booth. The drive up to the campground is steep, but the reward of this campground and beautiful lake is well worth the trip.
