Cottonwood Creek Campground is a serene campground located on the seasonal Cottonwood Creek along Highway 89, four miles south of Sierraville. The campground offers 48 single-family campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. The forest provides shade and privacy between sites, but occasional noise from the highway may be heard within the campground. The surrounding area offers additional trails and fishing opportunities. Lake Tahoe is located about 40 minutes south from the campground. Tahoe offers excellent boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking and scenic driving opportunities. Stampede Reservoir is a 45 minute drive southeast. To the north, Sardine Lakes, within the beautiful Lakes Basin Area is a 35-minute drive of the campground.
