From The Campground

Logger Campground is located on Stampede Reservoir in Tahoe National Forest, just 30 minutes from Truckee, California. The campground offers over 240 single, double, and triple-family sites in a sage and pine forest on small hills above the reservoir. All sites are within walking distance to the reservoir and come equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, and grills. Accessible vault toilets and drinking water are available, and firewood can be purchased on-site. Boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing are popular activities on the reservoir, which is home to rainbow and brown trout and kokanee salmon. The Little Truckee River is nearby and offers some of Northern California's best fly-fishing. Many miles of hiking/biking and off-road vehicle trails crisscross the surrounding area, including the popular Commemorative Overland Emigrant bike riding/hiking trail. Non-street legal OHVs must be trailered from the campground to the OHV trails. No camping or campfires allowed outside of developed campgrounds.
