Camp Richardson is a rustic campground located near Lake Tahoe. It is nestled among tall trees and offers easy access to the lake and the town center. The sites are large, but difficult to tell where one ends and another begins, and they are all dirt so be prepared to sweep and swiffer the inside of your RV daily. The bathrooms are quite old and funky and the showers are so bad that visitors often skip them. The campground is not suitable for pets and ATVs and mini bikes are allowed, which can be noisy and kick up a lot of dust. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the free shower has great water pressure. Unfortunately, the campground is often crowded and noisy, with road and people noise, and there is no maintenance done or anyone patrolling for quiet hours and abuse. The ice cream shop closes early and visitors have to pay for parking at the beach. The campground is in a good location and there is lots to do in the area, but it is not ideal for those looking for a peaceful camping experience.

The resort offers award-winning lakeside lodging, dining, cabin, and camping accommodations. All are located at a historic site right on the shores of Lake Tahoe and twenty minutes from Heavenly Resort.
