What others are saying about this campground
Nestled in the Sequoia National Forest, Camp Belknap is a beautiful and secluded campground. The campsites are close together, with no privacy in between, and the dirt around the concrete pads is loose and can be messy. There are outhouses that are kept clean and well stocked, and plenty of wood for fires. The campground is high up in the mountain, with a 30 minute drive up and around. The campground is popular and reservations are needed for tents only. At 4200 elevation, expect cool evenings and cold mornings, but pleasant daytime temperatures. There is a river running through the campground and easy access to fishing. The staff are friendly and give great trail and site recommendations. There is a camp host, Dan, who keeps everything clean. There are no bear boxes, so be sure to put food away at night as there have been bears in the campground. The scenery is beautiful and there are many things to do nearby.
