From The Campground

Big Basin Redwoods State Park is home to the largest continuous stand of ancient coast redwoods south of San Francisco. The park offers a unique ecosystem of ancient coast redwood trees, babbling brooks, and a fascinating natural and cultural history. Visitors can experience the redwoods by visiting the Redwood Loop Trail, which showcases some of the biggest and oldest trees in the park. The park also offers Rancho del Oso Nature & History Center, which is the coastal portion of Big Basin Redwoods State Park. Visitors can learn more about Rancho del Oso and the West Waddell Creek State Wilderness. Hiking, biking, and equestrian activities are also available in the park. A variety of free interpretive programs are offered throughout the year.
