The campground has fire pits, open spaces and dirt sites. The bathrooms near the RV sites were clean and nice. The location in Tehachapi, in the Kern Co mountains, is beautiful and offers great views of the lake, although swimming is not allowed. It can get quite cold in the winter, so be sure to bring warm clothing. There is a great playground and covered picnic table group area for the kids to enjoy. The sites are slightly canted, so blocks are helpful. There is a dump station with a full-size bear peaking out from behind the outhouse door. The lake has trout and catfish, with a limit of 5 fish per day. There are easy and scenic walks around the lake and on the interior park roads.

From The Campground

Brite Valley Aquatic Recreation Area is a year-round recreational area located in Tehachapi, California. The campground offers both RV hook-ups and tent sites, as well as restrooms with showers. Picnic pavilions, fish cleaning stations, and a dock are available all year long. The park is owned by the Tehachapi-Cummings County Water District and operated by the Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District. The campground is situated amongst some of Tehachapi's most beautiful natural scenery and offers activities such as camping, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Swimming, wading, or any activity involving bodily contact with the water in the lake is prohibited due to the lake's use as a domestic and agriculture water supply.
