The bathrooms were 1/2 out of order, showers only had a flimsy curtain across with no door for privacy, and there was no dog park or walking area. The website says the campground is across the street from the river, but there is a steep embankment that would keep you from actually reaching the river. Fire ban meant no way to cook on site even with propane. Check in area is very congested with very little to no room to park if you have a larger RV. Sites are at the top of the hill and the road to get to the top is also not exactly big rig friendly. Truckee River RV Park is a family-run campground located in a beautiful, wooded area near Truckee, Lake Tahoe, and the Reservoir. It offers back-in, paved, 30 amp full-service sites with plenty of grass and a BBQ and table at each. The campground is close to many amenities, including casinos and gas. However, the bathrooms were 1/2 out of order, showers only had a flimsy curtain across with no door for privacy, and there was no dog park or walking area. The website says the campground is across the street from the river, but there is a steep embankment that would keep you from actually reaching the river. Fire ban meant no way to cook on site even with propane. Check in area is very congested with very little to no room to park if you have a larger RV. The roads throughout the park are one lane only but not too bad at all to maneuver. Trees need trimming both on the access road and the sites. The campground is a great location for those looking for a rustic, no-frills experience near Truckee, Lake Tahoe, and the Reservoir.
