What others are saying about this campground
This campground is located in the quaint gold-mining town of Washington, just outside of Nevada City, on the Yuba River. It is a smaller park, and dogs are allowed. The grounds are well maintained and the owner, Debbie, runs a tight ship. There is a playground with an RC cars track, two horseshoe pits, and a ping-pong table. The sites are big, with some having full sun, full shade, or partial shade. The river is right there, providing a pleasant soundtrack throughout the day and night. There is excellent swimming and trails for dirt bike riding and ATVs. However, the campground can get very noisy when crowded, with lots of OHVs running around. The town of Washington is rather junky and attracts bikers. The drive into the campground is long and steep. The bathrooms and showers are nice and the staff is super friendly. There are dog waste collection bag dispensers to encourage patrons to pick up after their pets, but the rule of pets on a leash is often ignored. Garbage cans are provided at each site and are picked up daily. The campsites are a bit small and there is not a lot of dense trees on the campground, but there is plenty of room to do what you need to do. The locals are not always friendly, but the campground is still a great place to stay.
