Capitol West RV Park is a great campground for those looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay near downtown Sacramento. The park is big rig friendly with level sites, and has updated concrete patios. The park is located in an area that is being revitalized, and the sites are very large and level, with nice clean gravel. There is no cable, but a few local channels can be accessed. The park has a large dog park with grass and bags, and is biking distance to brand new Wal-Mart and Home Depot. The park WiFi is basically worthless and hardly ever works, and the traffic noise in the surrounding area can be considerable. The park office is closed on weekends, but there is a do-it-yourself check in system set up at the office. The park is in an economically depressed area of West Sacramento, and there have been reports of gun shots at night and gang members walking by. Bicycles have been stolen at night inside the park, and any bays left unlocked are at risk of being rifled. The owners have covered themselves for any liability in extensive legal language on the rental agreements. The management is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the park is a great base for exploring Sacramento.
