What others are saying about this campground
Butte Lake Campground is located in Westwood, CA and is an excellent secluded spot to camp out of the way from other campgrounds in Lassen Park. Its a peaceful campground despite being in a popular National Park, with tall pines and no undergrowth, and the sites are far apart. The lake is quiet and peaceful with no motor boats allowed, and wearing a life preserver is required if you put your boat in the water. The latrines are well-maintained with running water and toilets. The campground is near the lake, and cinder cone trailhead. The water level in the lake varies, but its great for swimming during the warmer months. Its also a great spot for kayaking and hiking through the many trails nearby. The last few miles to the campground is a dirt road, but its not too dusty or bumpy. Its a large campsite with plenty of fire pits and trees for shade. There are toilets available; however, no showers. Its a beautiful campground with year-round facilities and is nicely shaded.
