North Shore Campground and RV Park is located just outside of Chester, California. The campground is on a slope down to the lake, with sites nicely laid out without destroying the natural environment. Water and power are available at the sites and there is a service to empty tanks on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a fee. The campground is not level and does get dusty, and there are no wifi, OATV or cable services. Sites can be cramped and there is no sewer hookup, but the beautiful setting and views of the lake make up for it. There is a dump station at the end of the campground and each site has a limit of four people and one camping unit and one vehicle. Electricity can be an issue, as the voltage can drop below 100, and the roads are narrow. Hunting season starts in the late season, so gun noise may be heard in the mornings. The campground is expensive, but it is still a great place to stay and explore the Lassen National Park area.

North Shore Campgrounds is a family-friendly RV park and campground located on Lake Almanor in Northern California. With over one mile of shoreline, the park offers a peaceful and relaxing resort with plenty of fun activities for guests. The park has been carefully designed to complement the natural beauty of the serene settings. Amenities include RV sites with hook-ups, tent sites with water, guest house rentals, pull-throughs, room for slide-outs, lakefront RV and tent sites, clean modern bathrooms, token-operated hot showers, coin laundry, general store, dump station, picnic table and fire-ring at every site, boat slips, boat ramp, fish-cleaning station, propane sales, firewood sales, and security gate. Activities include hiking, fishing, canoe and kayak rentals, stand-up paddleboard rentals, water skiing, sailing, swimming, wildlife viewing, boat slips, horse-shoe pit, book lending library, playground, and bike riding. Local attractions include shopping, golfing, horseback riding, restaurants, Lassen Volcanic National Park, music festivals, sporting events, dirt biking, quad and ATV riding, mountain biking, waterfalls, and hunting.
