Located just 30 miles from highway 101 (Redway), the drive is slow and winding, with many tight turns and steep descents from the mountains. The view of the Pacific Ocean is nearly 180 degrees and unobstructed, only occasionally interrupted by small aircraft taking off or landing from the community runway. The park includes a deli and store with great food, as well as an old laundry room. The owners and hosts are friendly and accommodating, and the rest rooms are clean. There is no Wi-Fi and cell coverage is weak. Travel caution is advised, as the road between Shelter Cove and Ferndale (the Lost Coast) is in terrible condition.
