Putah Creek Campground is a charming, quiet, and rustic park located near Winters and Vacaville in Northern California. The campground is adjacent to Putah Creek and offers a variety of pull-thru sites, some of which are on the water. There are numerous peacocks that wander around the campground, adding to the exotic atmosphere. The camp hosts are friendly and helpful, and the young lady at the front gate is accommodating. Unfortunately, due to county budget cuts, there are no park rangers at the facility. The grounds are not kept up and the grass isnt watered. There is a “Day Use” area across the street that offers plenty of water sports in the summertime. Planning to return in September is recommended since the weather will be cooler then. Reservations must be made by phone and you may have to play telephone tag to get a response. Be aware that some of the sites may have excessive puddling after heavy rainstorms. Overall, Putah Creek Campground is a great place to stay with a beautiful setting and friendly greeters.

The campground has over 50 campsites, some with full hookups, and is open year-round. The park is also home to a day-use area with picnic tables, a playground, and a swimming area. Visitors can enjoy the scenic views of the lake and surrounding hills while relaxing in the peaceful atmosphere of the park.
