Lower Pines Campground is a beautiful and popular campground located in the Yosemite Valley. Surrounded by tall pine trees, the campground is accessible to all of the major trails, lakes, and park icons like Half Dome. Half Dome Village is just across the street and provides a fully stocked market/gift shop, grill, pizza shack, coffee shop, ice cream, bar, and buffet in a giant lodge. There is also a Visitor Center geared towards kids/families at Happy Isles that offers a Junior Ranger program and art classes. Yosemite Village is just a mile away and has a Visitor Center, museum, shops, and an even larger market. Sites vary in size and come with a picnic table, bear box, and fire ring/grill combo. There are no hookups, but potable water and a dump station are available and shared by all three campgrounds in the area. Campfires are allowed from 5pm-10pm in the summer season and pets are allowed. Bathrooms have two stalls and two sinks with cold water. Verizon cell service does not work, but ATT does at certain times. There is no TV reception and no satellite. Park provided shuttle buses are available to take visitors anywhere in the village area. This is an amazing campground to experience the beauty of Yosemite and all it has to offer.
