Aspen Glade Campground is a hidden gem located in Colorado, right on the Coñejos River. The campground has a loop by the river with large, well-spaced sites. Amenities include trash receptacles, water, bathrooms, and a day use area. Fishing in the river is great, with access to public waters and plenty of rainbows, brownies, cutthroat, and cut bow trout. The campground has tons of shade under giant pine trees, but getting consistent solar charge can be a challenge. Unfortunately, there were barking dogs during the visit, but the camp host did nothing to stop it. Despite this, Aspen Glade is a great spot for outdoor activities such as biking, nature watching, hiking, and trail running. There are no hookups and no showers, so be prepared for off-grid camping.
