From The Campground
Spectacle Lake Campground is located in Rio Grande National Forest and offers 24 campsites with tables and fireplaces. The facility has two vault type toilets, refuse containers and pickup, and a developed water system with 2 hand pumps. Most sites have a panoramic view of towering cliff walls. The campground offers fishing access to the Conejos River and Spectacle Lake, which is year-round with winter ice-fishing. The Spectacle Lake Trail #730 begins 1/2 mile south on Forest Road 250. Ruybalid Trail 855 and Notch Trail 729 are also accessible. Wildlife viewing is also available, with sightings of bear, deer, elk, and birds.
