Little Maud is a peaceful campground located 14 miles east of Basalt, Colorado. It is surrounded by the White River National Forest and sits at an elevation of 7,800 ft. The campground is covered in tall trees and grass, and the loop through it is paved. The campground is near the Ruedi Reservoir and the Fryingpan River, offering stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It is a great spot for a quiet getaway, and the scenery is perfect for hiking, fishing, and paddle boarding. The campground hosts, Bob and his wife, keep the area immaculate and the restrooms are strategically dotted around the campground and are well maintained. Dogs are allowed as long as they are kept on leashes and can accompany you on your hikes. Wildlife is abundant, and you may even spot a deer grazing near your campsite. Cell service is not available at the campground, and the nearest store is in Basalt. Costs are $24 per night for car camping, and extra vehicles are $6/car/night. Bear boxes are provided for storing food and cooking supplies. The bathrooms have flush toilets, but no showers. The campground is a great spot for a quiet trip, with stunning views and plenty of wildlife.
