What others are saying about this campground
The campground has full hookups for RVs, showers and laundry facilities, and allows pets. However, they have a strict no pit bulls policy, so unless your pit bull is a service dog, they cant stay. The campground is right on the main road through the San Luis Valley, so it can be a bit loud and bright at night. The power pedestals look like they have recently been upgraded and the price reflects the Passport America rate, making it worth an overnight stay. The campground is small, with 27 spaces, most with 30 amp service, and is geared more towards overnighters and visitors to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Unfortunately, the campground is located between a noisy highway and a railway, so there can be a lot of noise during the day. There is a small store on site, but no game room, club house, or pool. The bathrooms and showers are a bit outdated, but with flip flops the hot showers and warm bathrooms served their purpose in the bitter cold winter. The managers of the park are very nice and helpful, but the campground is a bit of a dirt lot with a few weedy sites near the fence and road. There is a large open trench by the trash cans, so watch out if you have children. There is no place for kids to play and grass is sparse weeds for the dogs. Overall, this campground is a good option for an overnight stay if you dont mind the noise and lack of amenities.
