This campground is located just off of HWY 24, 5 minutes north of downtown Buena Vista, and offers a unique experience for campers. With views of the Collegiate Peaks dusted with snow and the aspens twinkling in the breeze among the pine trees, this campground offers a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The campground has a 1/4 Mile of PRIVATE WATER on the Arkansas River and public access all around it, making it a great spot for fishing and gold panning. There are also paths down to the river, although they are steep. The sites are very clean and level, although they are close together. There is free Wi-Fi, and some local channels can be picked up with an antenna. The owner is very accommodating and friendly, and even offered his personal flatbed trailer to campers for hauling their quads to a nearby riding area. The public bathrooms and showers are not the cleanest, but the owner does his best to maintain the park. There is a pavilion with tables and a gas grill by the tent camping area, making it a great spot for tent campers. The campground is a great base for visiting Buena Vista, and offers a variety of activities such as ATV, biking, river rafting, and hot springs.
