The bathrooms are outdated and in need of some TLC, but the outdoor recreation space is close to many hiking trails, the Midland Hills Trailhead, the Mt Princeton Hot Springs, and the town of Buena Vista. The roads are narrow and there is virtually no lighting in the park, but the campground is quiet and dark at night, making for a great nights sleep. The campground also connects to several local trails on public land for dog walking, biking, etc. The only downside is the lack of cable TV and the high prices.

BV Overlook Campground and Lodging offers a variety of lodging options including Tiny Homes, Glamping Tents, Cabins, RV Sites, and a Yurt. The property is nestled into the hillside with breathtaking views of the Collegiate Peaks and trail access directly from the property. Guests can choose from a diverse range of gorgeous RV sites, pull-thru and back-in full hook-up sites available. Tent sites and premium view sites are also available. All guests have access to amenities such as a Rec Room, Outdoor Patio with a propane fire pit, Yard games, Dog wash station, Laundry room, Playground, Communal wood fire pit, Hammocking space, Volleyball, horseshoe pits, free throw court, gaga ball, Dog Park, Onsite Store, and Overlook Coffee Co. where you can purchase light breakfast and specialty espresso drinks. Buena Vista offers world-class rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, fly fishing, backpacking, dirt biking, skiing, snowmobiling, and hiking with access to 14ers in the Collegiate Range.
