The campground is located in a great spot, with easy access to the Arkansas River and plenty of hiking trails. The sites are spacious and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The camp store has a wide variety of items, and the campground offers a variety of activities. This KOA campground is located in a beautiful area with stunning views of the Collegiate Peaks and the Arkansas River. It offers a variety of accommodation options, including cabins, tent sites, and RV sites, as well as pull-through spots for RVs. There is a well-stocked KOA store with camping essentials, a fun indoor game room, and a friendly and helpful staff. The campground also features a camp cook area, a playground, and a picnic table and fire pit with a grill top at each site. The bathrooms are outdated and in need of some TLC, but the outdoor recreation space is close to many hiking trails, the Midland Hills Trailhead, the Mt Princeton Hot Springs, and the town of Buena Vista. The roads are narrow and there is virtually no lighting in the park, but the campground is quiet and dark at night, making for a great nights sleep. The campground also connects to several local trails on public land for dog walking, biking, etc. The only downside is the lack of cable TV and the high prices.
