GenieSummary
James Robb Island Acres State Park is a beautiful campground located in Grand Junction, Colorado, surrounded by towering canyon walls and the Colorado River. It features spacious, level campsites with full hookups, covered picnic tables, fire rings, and plenty of room between sites. The park is conveniently located off I-70, but unfortunately, the noise from the highway and nearby railroad line can be loud. The park also offers a walking path along the Colorado River, fishing in stocked ponds or the river, and frequent sightings of wild animals. During the hot summer months, the mesas on either side of the park help to block the sun earlier and later in the day. The campground has 30 amp service, but only a few sites with 50 amp service. There is a $9/day fee in addition to the camping fee, unless you have a Colorado annual pass. The staff is friendly and the park is well-maintained.
From The Campground
Hidden away behind the cascading Colorado River, Island Acres Section offers canyon wall canvassed backdrops, a natural swimming hole, and two stocked fishing lakes, all available with modern amenities; you’ll be able to turn-on a light, for example. Reservations for this insular moniker campground should be made in advance, especially during the busy summer months.
