Gobbler Grove Campground is located in Cheyenne Mountain State Park, with a great view of the city. It is a bit more private than some of the other campgrounds, with tall scrub oak providing privacy from other sites. There is a bear box provided, as well as parking and stairs to get to the campsites. The restrooms are in a small building, with running flush toilets and sinks with running water and soap provided. Tent sites are down a short hill from the parking lot and bathroom. The military base plays bugles over loudspeakers in the morning and the evening. Nearby there is a military base that plays music in the evening and morning, making the campground a bit noisy. There are several hiking paths that are dog friendly, and many areas to visit around such as The Garden of the Gods, Old Colorado City, Manitou Springs, Pike’s Peak, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Cave of the Winds and Manitou Cliff Dwellings. The campground also offers a many trials specially for mountain bikes and horses, bow target, and a camper service building with bathrooms, laundry machines and dryers, hot showers at $1 per four minutes and a vending machine.
